Since most of the 3,500 aircraft used in the Spanish Civil War were smuggled into the country, only recently have archives opened, lost records surfaced, and people found it safe to tell their stories. Over 280 types of aircraft used by the opposing forces are described, and their part in the war detailed. Most are illustrated with photographs.
