Seeds of Inquiry - World History

Students learn ten reading comprehension strategies for analyzing texts while at the same time deepening their understanding of events in world history. The strategies, their benefits, and guidelines for implementation are first explained using targeted activities, and then students practice the skills on 20 short texts written specifically for this book that cover topics from medieval Africa, China, and Europe to the founding of the United Nations. The texts are accompanied by teacher pages containing lexile level, recommended activities, suggestions for how to conduct the lesson, lists of related primary sources, post-reading discussion questions, and references.
