After the Crash: Assessment and Treatment of Motor Vehicle Accident Survivors

The authors use data from a 5-year study of motor vehicle accident survivors in Albany, New York, and from worldwide English language research, to investigate the phenomenon of posttraumatic stress disorder that develops as a result of a motor vehicle accident. They discuss the disorder in terms of its rate of occurrence among accident victims, its short-term history, delayed onset, and treatment.
