Joe Garrett covers topics both whimsical and serious in his series of essays on home, heart, and family in southern life.

Garrett engages readers with his wistful stories about coming of age in rural Georgia. His adventures harken back to a simpler time. In addition to humorous slice-of-life moments and a vibrant glimpse into local history, Garrett also writes about more difficult topics.
