Airborne Warfare

Airborne Warefare, first published in 1947, examines World War II airborne actions in Sicily, southern Italy, Normandy, and Holland, and looks at how best to employ airborne troops in the future. Author and US Army Lt. General James "Jumpin' Jim" Gavin (1907–1990) reflects on his own experiences during World War II, and was the only US Army general to make four combat jumps during the war, earning him the high-respect of his troops. Gavin was also the third commander of the 82nd Airborne Division during World War II. Illustrated with maps and photographs.
