Meditations (Annotated)

Meditations is a frankly surprising read. It is not a historical account, like Julius Caesar's account of the Gallic wars. It is the philosophy, thoughts and feelings of the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius. It is short, pithy and in many parts, ahead of its time. It was never intended to be read by the public, and is more akin to Aurelius' private diary than a work of literature. "Meditations" serves to humanize a historical figure, and it brings Aurelius to life. This edition has 13.5 point font, full spacing between paragraphs and the popular 6x9 inch trim size for comfortable reading. Annotations are at the end of each of the twelve books, and do not interrupt the flow of reading.
