Imprisoned with the Pharaohs, by Howard Phillips Lovecraft, written in March of 1924 and published in May of 1924 in Weird Tales, was commissioned by the magazine to exploit the popularity of the magician Harry Houdini, who was a shareholder of Weird Tales. The plot tells of a race of immortal pharaohs who dwell in large halls that lie beneath the pyramids, and walking down dark flights of stairs. WITHOUT ILLUSTRATIONS. Marco Torricelli was born in Genoa. He drew Candy Candy, Topolino, Piccolo Ranger, Zagor – which he is currently working on – Thor, Tex and has collaborated with magazines such as Magic Girl, Corto Maltese, Eternauta. He has been the cover artist of Andersen magazine school. He has contributed with his comics and illustrations to the Messaggero di Gesù Bambino di Praga of the Padri carmelitani of Arenzano (Genoa). He, together with Moreno Burattini was the author of the first Zagor Gigante, published in 2011 in the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the character. In 2012 Arte e Crescita Edizioni publishes La cerbiatta scomparsa (The disappeared fawn), an illustrated e-book for children. Since 2013 he has been in Comics Bay, a self-publishing website created by the writer and scriptwriter Giorgio Pezzin, with Parabole di Gesù a fumetti (Comic parables of Jesus).
