Best known for this turn of the century novels "The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come" and "The Trail of the Lonesome Pine", John Fox, Jr. also wrote short fiction set in the hills of Virginia and Kentucky. In his novella "A Cumberland Vendetta" Fox writes about two feuding families who no longer remember why they are feuding. His stories are rich with regional dialect and mountain characters.
