Homer’s Iliad

The main focus of the commentary on book 24 of the Iliad is the interpretation of one of the most exciting and moving scenes in the epic: how the Trojan King, Priam, makes his way to his deadly enemy Achilles, at whose hands his son Hector had died how the god Hermes guides him almost mystically into the Greek camp how Achilles, at the end of an emotional encounter, invites Priam to dine with him and hands over Hector's body for burial.
