Murrinhpatha Morphology and Phonology (Pacific Linguistics [PL], 653)

This book combines the traditions of grammatical description and variationism to analyse the morphology of the Murrinhpatha verb. It explores the rigid patterns of verbal word formation (""grammatical rules"") and those which show substantial variation between lexical items or between speech tokens (""variables""). The integration of grammatical description and quantitative variationist analysis provides insight into the language as a dynamic system.
