Marines in Lebanon, 1958

This is a history of the Marine Corps participation in the Lebanon crisis from July-October 1958. Its purpose is to show the role of the U.S. Marine Corps in carrying out American foreign policy and the pacification of a country through a successful show of force. The account is based on the records of the U.S. Marine Corps and selected records of the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Department of State.
