Ding. Ding. Ding. The sound of the bell echoes in Drake “Roky” Rokmonov’s head. For him it signals more than just the fight to come, more than the inevitable outcome, more than the unwanted accolades. The bell is his prison and the ring is his cell. Once a proud General in command of legions of vampire warriors, there was a time when he fought for the honor of his kind, when he fought for a cause and he led others willingly onto the battlefield. But that was in a different world in a different age, an age before the rule of men. In this world, Drake fights for the amusement of the masses at the mercy of the Coven and its matriarch, Rebecca Lynn. He is not alone. Other monsters, all forced out of the shadows when their secret was revealed, also perform in the ring for the insatiable crowd. For Drake, there can be no happy co-existence between mankind and monsters. There can be nothing more than the toll of the bell. But there are others, a small few, who do not believe that the monsters should sit idly by as the witch and her cohorts work to advance the power of the Coven. This group, the MLA, believes that it is time for the monsters to rise up. Against his will, Drake finds himself swept up into the plans of the MLA, stripped of his title, and recklessly, irrevocably in love with a girl who holds a secret that will rip apart the fabric of his very existence. Change is certain. The only questions that remain are if Drake will rise up to embrace his destiny and if even the leader of legend will be enough to stand up against an age-old enemy whose connection with the champion runs blood deep.
