On Assignment - The Great War - American Gold Star Mothers

"On Assignment" is a photo-biography of pioneer press photographer Edward N. Jackson who joined the Signal Corps in 1917 to photograph the "war to end all wars." This is the final volume of the book and is titled "Gold Star Mothers" which was founded in 1928 for the berieved mothers and wives of soldiers lost in combat. This story has Ed Jackson escorting the first contingent of Gold Star Mothers to England and France to finally see their loved ones.
