Daisy Miller and Winterbourne, both Americans, first meet in Switzerland, Daisy is absolutely delighted with the Europe, especially the high society which she wishes to enter. Later in Rome, Winterbourne and Daisy meet unexpectedly in the parlor of Mrs. Walker, a fellow American. The story goes on in Rome.
