An Outline of French Law As Affecting British Subjects
Description:
Originally published in 1897 PREFACE: The present essay is offered as a small contribution to a subject which is becoming every day of increasing importance. When a case arises for decision in the French Courts in which both or one of the parties is a foreigner, the difficulty at once presents itself whether the French law or the foreigner's municipal law ought to be applied; in other words, whether the case falls within the "statut reel" or the statut personnel." This is a comprehensive and informative look at the subject and still a fascinating read today. Many of the earliest books, particularly those dating back to the 1900's and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive. We are republishing these classic works
