He was one of the leading writers of detective fiction in the "Golden Age" of mystery writing. The body of a man is found on the steps to Middle Temple Lane near London's courts of law. A journalist and lawyer are drawn into the investigation. Fletcher's experiences as a journalist help make the plot very realistic. This is a classic mystery and fun to read.
