The Honor of the Big Snows

James Oliver Curwood was an early 20th century writer who lived in Michigan, where he published several novels a year. Curwood loved the outdoors and is known for his conservation efforts. Set in the Canadian snow-covered forest, this is a story of a young man who falls in love with a girl he helped raise--teaching her music, how to read, among other things.
