Michigan won, 1-0. Football was embryonic then, and the game represents the pioneering spirit of University of Michigan football to this day. From the point-a-minute juggernaut of 1902 scoring 644 points in 660 minutes of play under legendary coach Fielding Yost to the decade of dominance under Fritz Crisler, to the Bo Schembechler era when the Wolverines refined three yards and a cloud of dust to a strategy that could keep up with speedy Pac 10 Conference teams in the Rose Bowl, the University of Michigan has represented the best in major college football.
