Lincoln & Other Poems

Many of the poems in this volume now appear in print for the first time. 'The one on Lincoln was read at the Lincoln Birthday Dinner given in 1900 by the Republican Club of New York City. The poem "The New Century" was read at the Manhattan Labor Dinner given January first, 1901. Edwin Markham (1852 – 1940; born Charles Edward Anson Markham) was an American poet. From 1923 to 1931 he was Poet Laureate of Oregon.
