An editorial task involving the reading of tens of thousands of cases can rarely be accomplished single handed. The editor desires to acknowledge his indebtedness to his painstaking assistants, Mr. F. W. Doan, now of Tucson, Ariz., and Mr. E. S. Page, of Oak land, Cal. The chapter on Trusts (excepting Charitable Trusts) was for the most part annotated by Mr. Doan; as to the rest of the editorial notes, it may be said in general that those in Vol. III are chiefly Mr. Page's work, those in Vols. I and II, and all those stating the results of English cases, are chiefly the editor's.
