Nothing in this Law shall be construed to 8aT,n8'-affect (a) any proceedings before or after decree in any suit instituted before the commencement of this Law; or (b) the jurisdiction of a Magistrate under any law for the time being in force with respect to debts or other claims of a civil nature; or (e) any local law or any special law other than tlie Code of Civil Procedure xiv of Ism as applied to Abu and Anadra (that Code being hereinafter referred to as " the Code "). CHAPTER II. Constitution Of The Court Of Small Causes. 4. (1) The Magistrate for the time being of Abu, now exercising the powers The Conrt of Small.Causes at Abu of a Judge of a Court of Small Causes under and Anadra. Notification of the Government of India in the Foreign Department, No. 286-I., dated the twenty-third day of January, 1884, shall continue to exercise such powers in Abu and Anadra, and shall while exercising such powers, be deemed to be the Court of Small Causes hereinafter referred to.
