For William Connolly, being a Deputy United States Marshal is more than a job, it's a calling. Wearing the badge means more than anything in his life, and he would never jeopardize that or his integrity for anything. Then his friend and colleague is murdered by a group of outlaws. When he goes to pursue those responsible, he is told to stand down.
