Jungle Trouble: The Ape-Men of Xolotl & Manape the Mighty
Description:
CANNON BOOKS PRESENTS: Two Jungle Pulp novellas - One Book: "The Ape-Men of Xolotl" (1930). After crash landing in route to Oaxaca, Mexico, Captain Freddie Kirby found himself on the run from up-country bandits. His escape down the belly of a geyser led him to a subterranean world and a battle between People of the Temple and the ape-people, Worshippers of Xolotl. Can Kirby survive long enough to save the woman he now loved? BOOK TWO: "Manape the Mighty" (1931) Shipwrecked on the coast of Africa, Lee Bentley and Ellen Estabrook are rescued by Professor Caleb Barter, who is in self-exile along with his diabolical experiments. Now Lee and Ellen find themselves in a struggle of survival. Can they escape this treacherous scientist who holds life cheap in comparison to scientific discovery? NOTE ONE: CANNON BOOKS has revised the title of David R., Spark's novella from "The Ape-Men of Xlotli" to "The Ape-Men of Xolotl", believing that the initial spelling was an oversight. Sparks builds a back story involving two deities: Xlotli and Quetzalcoatl. However the actual spelling of the former deity is Xolotl. Thus the revision for this edition. NOTE TWO: This Cannon Books edition presents revised and expanded upon versions of the original novellas "The Ape-Men of Xlotli" and "Manape the Mighty".
