Jekyll And Hyde

Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde is a gothic novella by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson, first published in 1886.

The novella became an immediate critical success and one of Stevenson's most popular and best-selling works. Within six months of its release, forty thousand copies were sold and by 1901 it had sold around 250,000 just in the United States alone. The novel is still a popular choice among gothic horror readers and it has since been adapted into over 120 stage plays and films alone.

The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is a story about the relationship between two men who, judging by their appearances, should have nothing in common, yet the dichotomy between good and evil ties them together. Their relationship is a mystery for the other characters, hence the term case, a shortened form of the term case study that refers to a record of research that explores the development of a person.
