Surviving Hitler's Army

A family memoir that recounts the many challenges faced by my brave parents who were living in Austria throughout WWII. When the Nazis started to lose the war, the SS began to police and terrorize the remaining troops. Any soldier who was found outside their unit without a pass was immediately executed for desertion. My father saw this first hand and only narrowly escaped being killed by his own army on more than one occasion. This is the story of how he and my mother somehow married and started a family in the midst of all the chaos. It is a tribute to their incredible perseverance and desire to create a better life for their children.
