Storybordello 2014: Diary Comics by DCFisher

I actually started making daily diary comics half-way through November 2013, but it wasn’t till 2014 that I started to hit my stride in terms of consistency. Initially the Diary Comics started as a small side-project in the first year of a Doctorate of Visual Arts. Once I started, though, I couldn’t stop.

The small experiment grew into an ongoing practice that spawned a book. From the dust motes of the New Year morning all the way through to finally tucking in for bed before 11pm on New Years Eve. A place for experimentation. A way to increase drawing speed. Exploring all the tiny minutiae of the everyday. Snippets of conversations. A feeling. Something I heard. A facial tic. Looking in and looking out. Hoping to resonate and engage.
