Tails from the Nightstand

Serena Campbell's life isn't easy, but it's a good life and she's worked hard to make it that way. Lately, however, she is beginning to question her measure of what success really means and has a nagging feeling that something is missing. As the mother of two intellectually gifted daughters and the counsellor of cognitively delayed youth, Serena swings back and forth between dichotomies of abundance and lack, intellect and disability, over-protection and neglect, humour and horror. Careful to never let her worlds collide, she purges her thoughts and emotions onto paper and squirrels her words away into a crammed nightstand until she is inspired to pursue a dream that Serena believed had died inside her long ago.
