Some were afraid, some were amazed, and some were mesmerized. If you had seen the sky that night, would you have been surprised?" In addition to the illustrated poems, discussion guides that meet many school curriculum standards provide information on the science behind meteors, the Leonid meteor shower, and the illuminated cultures, making this children's book a treat for readers of all ages. Sally Crum is a retired US Forest Service archaeologist. She has three other books published by Western Reflections Publishing Co. and was a Gold Medal winner Independent Publishers of Colorado for her book Race to the Moonrise - An Ancient Journey. In addition to his work as a freelance illustrator, Eric Carlson works as an archaeologist and artifact illustrator. Aline LaForge is a retired Bureau of Land Management archaeologist. She designed the book interior and cover, and owns Wise Bird Books LLC.
