The Interconnectedness of Story, Community, & Health

Story begins with the concept of self, which contributes to identity and definition of story. Sense of community, or personality, identity, feeling, and why people live in this place, migrate or are marginalized in community are explored. Indigenous People have defined health as a spiritual connection to the earth. This spiritual relationship with land or environment ensures health, continuity of the culture, reproduction of the society, and how meaningful the world is, as defied within the context of community. The World Health Organization crafted in 1948 the definition that "health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease of infirmity." This book explores the interconnectedness of story, community, and health.
