Spreading the Love On Empty Receiving Little
Description:
Teresa Sledge was born and raised in Washington DC, and raised in the ways of most inner city girls: neighborhoods where they knew each other and the roads that were in front of projects went no further than the minds and aspirations of those that live within those “Hoods”. Teresa grew and matured as a young women during the Chocolate City era of DC. She learned the ways of the streets; she honed her survival skills in the only way that subsidize living could provide: She grew, she worked it. Her desire to be successful took her to local modeling, talent shows, drug seller, hustler and community vendor. She learned how to promote social events and expanded her vending, city wide. After years of hustling the streets of DC she had a vision and a dream to work in the community. She formed a Non Profit that focused on the communities she grew up in and outside of the neighborhood; with attention directed towards young girls and ladies: Life skills and charities that were directed to the unemployed, homeless, children and the disadvantaged were ever needed. Teresa has known the streets of inner city DC all her life and has been the recipient of what street life had to offer: Bitter or sweet, this is Teresa, (Black Diamond) Sledge - Jackson’s story.
