New America (Jeremiah Trilogy)

Jeremiah is back. The terrorist prophet returns home to lead millions of his converts who have migrated to the upper Midwest. There, they have proclaimed a “New America” based on instructions in The Book of Second Jeremiah. Jeremiah also renews his irrational obsession with former television journalist Laura Delaney by kidnapping her. Her fate is to bear his son, who, according to prophecy, will one day assume leadership of Jeremiah’s campaign of world domination. Laura’s husband, former FBI agent Steve Wallace, sets out for New America, intent on rescuing Laura and helping undercover agents kill Jeremiah before the terrorist can implement his scheme to partition the nation. Steve’s task won’t be easy. Renegade U.S. Army officers and foreign mercenaries have taken over the South Dakota National Guard and State Police to create a formidable army. They attack U.S. military bases and seize artillery, fighter aircraft and nuclear weapons. With the aid of a traitor in the White House, Jeremiah threatens the nation with nuclear destruction unless Congress approves a constitutional amendment recognizing New America as an independent nation.
