John the Apologist of His Glory

Scholars have pointed to the legal and forensic aspects of the Fourth Gospel, and I believe the social situation called for the answering of questions about Jesus. John the Apologist answers the question of "who is Jesus" and "why believe" in Him, and he points to Jesus actually giving a method that defended Him as the God-man.
