The Constitution for the United States of America: crafted by a small group of dedicated patriots who had to overcome fierce opposition, the Constitution charted the future path for the United States of America and solidified its place as the premier nation on Earth. Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and John Jay, three men heavily involved in the drafting of the Constitution and deeply committed to its ratification, published "The Federalist" (known today as The Federalist Papers) to clearly delineate the necessity for a rule of law for the new nation. Their explanations and reasonings are as sound today as two and one-quarter centuries ago.
