This Is Yellowstone

Yellowstone is at the heart of great wild land ecosystem that covers 28,000 square miles. The park includes 2.2 million acres of pristine northern Rocky Mountain landscape. Elevations range from about 5,200 feet to the 11,358- foot summit of Eagle Peak, but the elevation of the Central Plateau is about 8,000 feet. All of the classic elements of the wilderness park are here; high mountains, clear lakes and streams, dense forests, colorful vegetation, alpine meadows, canyons, waterfalls, and abundant wildlife. Here, too, are elements that constantly alter the appearance of the park- earthquakes, fire, erosion, geothermal activity.
