Sheltered Instruction Plus--A Comprehensive Plan for Successfully Teaching English Language Learners

Content Objectives: Define and explain the goals of sheltered instruction, identify seven steps to building a language-rich interactive classroom, describe how teachers can differentiate instruction for English Language Learners, and explain how to plan sheltered lessons using the ELPS. Language Objectives: Share ideas for improving instruction by participating in structured conversations, write language objectives, sentence stems, and and a sheltered lesson plan, and write a differentiated lesson plan for English Language Learners.
