Trail to Gold: The Pend Oreille Route by Linda Hackbarth (2014-11-06)

This is the story of the Oregon & Montana Transportation Company’s attempts to capitalize on the commerce of the gold mining camps in western Montana Territory and southern British Columbia during the mid to late 1860s. It is a blend of historic facts and first-hand knowledge from the journals of Seth Luen Pope and others who tell about the trails they followed, the people they met, and the company organized to operate steamers on Lake Pend Oreille and the Clark Fork River.
