A View From the Top: Maryland's Fire Towers

This book locates and describes all of Maryland's Fire Towers. Researched and written by Barbara Garner, and published by Abecedarian Books of Baldwin, MD with maps by cartographer, Ron Vohs, it takes the reader to 46 locations. It describes the development of the fire tower lookout system in Maryland and recognizes many of the towermen and towerwomen who worked this system. It is a resource for adventurers, hikers, geographers, historians, teachers, parents and all Marylanders who live near tower sites or may have worked protecting Maryland's natural resources.
