Buster Brown and the Cowboy

Tells the story of how the Buster Brown Shoe Company found a young boy look-alike to use in advertising shows and the story of his life. Richard Barker, age seven, was chosen and traveled around the country dressed in red velvet for the next 6 years. It goes on to tell his story of how he came to fulfill his dream of becoming a cowboy out West. Told from his own perspective as well as that of his daughter, this book is a fascinating glimpse of the life of a child celebrity in the early 1900's.
