In an anxiety filled world, wisdom and serenity seem more elusive than ever. We're bombarded with images of war, terrorism, a struggling economy, political battles, climate change, fuel shortages, natural disasters, contagious viruses and moral decay. Add to these national and international problems our own individual concerns, and wisdom and serenity seem like unattainable fables from by-gone eras. Yet, the answers are where they have always laid: in faith, in work, in staying focused on what is truly important. Jerry Cypher, no stranger to any of these concepts, has compiled some of the stories, quotes and biographical moments that he has found to be most useful as reminders in his own life for achieving, and keeping, wisdom and serenity uppermost in his daily life, even while existing in an age of madness. Jerry Cypher first faced adversity at the age of eight with the death of his father. From a childhood of financial struggle, he learned the importance of community, faith, hard work, and giving back. These principles helped him to achieve in the business world as a successful entrepreneur owning an employment placement agency for Fortune 500 companies both on the national and international level, and a business brokering agency. Married and with children of his own, he never forgot the support of a community to a fatherless child, and he has spent all of his adult life coaching and mentoring youth as well as giving motivational speeches in different venues.
