The Right to Be You

Rev. Temple Hayes says this about the inspiration for "The Right To Be You" curriculum: At a breakfast to celebrate the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, the keynote speaker posed the question, "How are the children in your community doing?" Not very well, I found out, and I wanted to do something about it. I wanted to explain to children of all ages that they have a right to be here (no less than the trees and the stars) and I wanted to teach them how to be present for their lives, fulfill their dreams and believe that we can achieve peace on earth in our lifetime.
