For a school assignment, Blake gathers stories about Jimmy Shannon, a person who lives in his small town. As he interviews people about Jimmy, Blake learns that being different is not bad or sad, it just is. Blake s interviews help him understand the joy people can experience when they accept others and live by the Golden Rule. His stories are about people and life in a town where random acts of kindness done for a mentally challenged person have brought happiness not only to him, but have also enriched the lives of all who know him.
