Now, he taps into lessons that he and others learned from Coach Henderson through his many years of teaching and coaching. The book is entitled, The Winning Edge: Lessons from Billy Henderson, and is written to emphasize the importance of a number of core values in coaching and playing sports, including such things as preparation, teamwork, motivation, and perseverance.The book captures Henderson s lifelong fervor of not only sports, and the way the game is played, but with love and respect for the people involved, from players to fans to parents and the larger community. Henderson himself says, The day-by-day contact is probably the most rewarding experience when you are working with young people, teaching and coaching.
