Whether Connie Colwell Miller writes of a red-tailed hawk hunting for mice or a lover's underwear crumpled up on the bedroom floor, her voice is filled with a revealing breathe of candor. Her poems draw our attention to the small details in nature and of the body, often showing us beauty where we may not have expected it, as if her narrator intimately knows the people, landscapes, and events that she speaks of.
