Commander Engel started his military career by enlisting in the Navy in 1931 and in 1937 received his flight training as a Chief Petty Officer. After receiving his wings, his assignments carried him throughout the world and during his time while on active duty, he flew over two-dozen types of aircraft. Flight of the Silver Eagle is a wonderful story for all ages. One of our great WWII Era Pearl Harbor Survivors and decorated Veterans.
