The Investigation of the Assassination of President John F. Kennedy: Performance of the Intelligence Agencies

Twelve years after the publication of the Warren Report, the Schweiker-Hart subcommittee of the Church Committee's intelligence investigation "developed evidence which impeaches the process by which the intelligence agencies arrived at their own conclusions about the assassination, and by which they provided information to the Warren Commission," and flatly called that investigation "deficient."The report takes the FBI and CIA both to task for withholding important information from the Warren Commission, in particular the existence of plots to assassinate the Cuban leader, Fidel Castro.On Face the Nation a few months following the publication of this report, Senator Richard Schweiker said that the Warren Report "has collapsed like a house of cards" and the investigation "was snuffed out before it even began."
