Which would you choose... love or financial security? To an outsider, Sheila, Cynthia, and Patrice seem to have it all: talent, success and beauty. Everything, but the ring! As they come to terms with turning thirty, they each explore the Atlanta dating scene with a vengeance, in hopes of finding Mr. Right and securing a marriage proposal. Patrice, a thirty year old school teacher, is determined that before another year passes her by she will finally achieve her dream of becoming an R&B singer. Her ambitions immediately come to a halt as she enters into a relationship with Pastor Stephen Reynolds, who is not comfortable with the idea of his future First Lady pursuing a music career, and convinces her to use her voice as a vessel for the Lord. All is well until Patrice discovers that she's not the only one who has her sights set on the charismatic pastor. Cynthia, age twenty-nine, on the other hand, would never waste time worrying about what her man was doing. Her "finance before romance" mentality, and life jacket philosophy, which deems having a little something extra on the side at all times, ensures that she will always have a man and financial security. Sheila, who is celebrating her thirtieth birthday, is a cross between her two friends. Wondering if it's possible to have it all, she ends a fourteen year relationship with her high school sweetheart after being swept away by NBA superstar Thomas Rose.
