Sticks, Stones and Stumped!

When Billy Bob migrates North from Oklahoma he makes new friends, Chapman the Chipmunk, Cubby Bear and Felicia Fox. Although he is welcomed by his new friends and his teacher Miss Dorrie Deer, he soon finds out that one of the animals is not as friendly as the rest. Bull E Moose teases, bullies and intimidates Billy Bob because he looks and acts different. Pointing out his “differences” has Billy Bob feeling strange, unwanted and experiencing feelings of fear and anxiety. His friends don’t know how to handle the situation and Billy Bob doesn’t want to go to school anymore. This story weaves the relationships of the target, bystander and teacher. It is a creative and valuable tool for teachers and parents to introduce the importance of bullying prevention in an inspiring tale of friendship, respect and communication.
