Description:
Poetry. Swanson's poetry comes to us here in four line stanzas that also appear to be complete sentences as part of a cohesive chapter structure, revealing the story of a man unable to cope with the insecurities of the real world. The man withdraws into his mind where he creates his own universe and plays his own God. He attempts to create the perfect order of good in the world within this private space, but is foiled when at the crowning point of his universe, it is destroyed-partly by what he created from his own repressed fears. Unable to effect change, he is forced to watch his universe destroyed, and must return to the reality he had fled from.
