This book is a history of multiple generations of a Texas family who demonstrate endurance, strength, and faith in God as they experience life's challenges and celebrations. There is particular emphasis on life in West Texas during the latter 19th and early 20th centuries, and the experience of German women settlers in Central Texas during that same time period. The author is the touchstone of seven generations. She has known one of her great-grandmothers and has herself seven great-grandchildren.
