That Their Souls Might Be Saved: Revisiting the Neglected Command of Church Discipline

REVISITING THE NEGLECTED COMMAND OF CHURCH DISCIPLINE - It is the sad truth that an individual could have been sitting in the pews of many congregations of the Lord's Church every Sunday for the past 20 years and have never seen a person publicly withdrawn from Congregations that have been so faithful in other areas of their corporate life have chosen to neglect the command to disfellowship Christians in the Church know that such is the case. They have been sitting in those pews for the past several decades bearing silent witness to this fact. Many saw public withdrawal done in the days of their parents or in "years gone by," but are painfully aware of its absence in recent years. It is high time we revisited God's command to lovingly withdraw fellowship from those who refuse to repent, in an effort to save their souls.
